Something of a Renaissance Man in today's musical circles, Gary Shocker's amazing versatility, artistry and multiple talents have earned him international acclaim as a flutist, composer and pianist. Mr. Shocker's engagements have included performances with the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the West German Sinfonia. His chamber music activities include appearances with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
A prolific composer as well, he has written sonatas for piano, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, horn and two pianos, in addition to numerous works for flute. One of America's most distinguished and sought after chamber ensembles, the Chester String Quartet has been called "one of the best and brightest of the country's young string quartets" by the Boston Globe.
Their engaging style and deep sense of musical commitment have brought them rave reviews from audiences and critics throughout the United States as well as Latin America and Europe.
