Composer/conductor Carlos Franzetti's musical range seems to know no limits. Symphonic and chamber works, big band, Latin jazz, and film scores have all been the focus of his vast talent.

Franzetti has long been a major force in the classical music field and has collaborated with dozens of orchestras both in the United States and internationally. He was the conductor, arranger, and co-producer of the 1997 Grammy Award-winning Chesky album Portraits of Cuba featuring soloist Paquito D'Rivera. Other acclaimed projects include the 1999 Grammy Award-nominated Remembrances with Jon Faddis for Chesky Records, MTV Unplugged with Luis Alberto Spinetta, The Unknown Piazolla with Chesky Records and the 1999 Grammy Award-nominated Obsession with David Sanchez for Sony Records. As Music Director of Orquesta Nova, Carlos Franzetti has recorded two CDs for Chesky Records which have received critical acclaim all over the world.

Franzetti has performed and recorded with many of the world's greatest jazz, pop, and rock artists including Robert Palmer, Chaka Khan, Gloria Gaynor, Laura Nyro, Ruben Blades, Arturo Sandoval, Mercedes Sosa, and Paquito D'Rivera. Major film producers and directors with whom Franzetti has worked are Sidney Lumet, Alan Pakula, Jerry Schatzberg, and Harry Belafonte.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Carlos Franzetti has lived in New York since 1974, where his unique versatility has led to his successful career in all areas of music.
